March 2017

The club awards night that was due to take place on March 25th has has to be POSTPONED AND WILL NOT NOW TAKE PLACE ON THIS DATE. A new date will be announced shortly, sorry, but the circumstances for postponement are beyond our control.

The racing schedule for 2017 is now being added onto the 2017 racing page on this site. Please be aware that our first event is on Sunday 12th March 2017 with a 9 mile blast down to East Butterwick, followed by free food at the Dog & Gun Pub. First rider off at 11.30 am.

September 2016

AGM

Would members please note, that the date for the AGM 2016, has been set for WEDNESDAY 23rd NOVEMBER 2016. 7.30 PM AT THE OLD NICK THEATRE IN GAINSBOROUGH.

All members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

6 Annual General Meetings (AGM)

The Club will hold an AGM once in every calendar year and not more than 15 months after the last AGM. At every AGM:

a The Members will elect a Committee including a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary to serve until the next AGM;

b The Treasurer will produce accounts of the Club for the latest financial year audited as the Committee shall decide;

c The Committee will present a report on the Club’s activities since the previous
AGM;

d The Members will appoint a suitable person to audit the accounts; and

e The Members will discuss and vote on any resolution (whether about policy or to change the Rules) and deal with any other business put to the meeting.

ANY MEMBER WISHING TO INCLUDE AN ITEM ON THE AGENDA (rather than bringing the matter up at the meeting under any other business ), MUST DO SO IN WRITING TO THE SECRETARY ( A.Clarke ), no less than 7 days prior to the meeting.

 

April 2016

The 1st ever Viking velo annual dinner/awards night will be held on Saurday 7th. May, 2016 at the Ferry House in East Stockwith(7pm). Tickets are £20 each and the night will involve dinner/prize presentation and then a live band(Revolver) . Bring your partners and your friends, tickets from Rob Noble 07722002367.

Feb 2016

This Sunday the 14th Feb, we have a ” Dads Army ” ride planned, the route will be the two bridges, total distance about 35 miles. This ride will be at a VERY STEADY pace with a cafe stop after 20 miles, where we will meet up with the faster section( that are leaving earlier ), at the cafe at Messingham. Please meet at the 8 jolly brewers at 10 am if you want to join this steady group.

December 2015

This Sunday the 6th December, the ” Dads Army ” section are having a very steady ride down to Doddington Hall. The pace of this ride will be ” Pleasant ” and is suitable for riders of any ability/fitness. We will go the pace of the slowest rider present. Once we get to Doddington, there is a Cafe and a new bike shop to look at. This ride has emphasis on the Bacon Butty and mug of Tea brigade, NO Coffee and Definitely No Cake !!….only joking….you can have Coffee, as long as it’s instant !. There will also be a faster longer ride leaving at the same time ( 9 am 8 jolly brewers car park ). This group will also be stopping off at Doddington hall for Latte and cake !!.

 

NOVEMBER 2015

Club Constitution

Following the AGM, the members agreed that pending any objections,the club would adopt the constitution as per the ” club constitution ” page on this website. Any member who wishes to object, has until 31 st December 2015 to make the club sec aware of their objections. On proviso that no such objections are forthcoming, then this constitution will be adopted.

NOVEMBER 2015

A.G.M.
The club will be holding it’s Annual General Meeting on the night of Wednesday 25th November 2015 at 7.30 pm.The venue for this meeting is the Gainsborough Theatre (also known as the Old Nick theatre). The building is situated on station approach which is just further down from the entrance to Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough.

We have a full program of races which are all listed on the 2015 racing program page. Members can also now use our online club shop, visit the club shop page for more info and to order clothing . Do remember that significant discount can be obtained on clothing, if members get together and order together. The best thing to do, is to bring up the fact that you want to order something, when attending either a time trial or on one of the social nights. That way we can try and put people/orders together. It should be noted, that for most items, there are no minimum order quantities, so you don’t have to wait, should you be prepared to pay a bit extra.

Good luck to all our members during the coming racing season and always remember that whilst performance is admired, safety is number one and enjoyment number two.
